candle care

for top performance, your stone essentials candle requires minimal care. you can maintain the safety and ensure longevity of your candle by following the below guidelines for a clean and even burn. for optimum performance and safety we suggest using a wick trimmer and candle tray. if you need either a wick trimmer or candle tray, visit the home essentials section of our shop to purchase yours.

pre-lighting

when you receive your candle your wick is pre-cut to 1/4”. this length should be maintained prior to lighting your candle each time by simply removing any carbon from the previous burn. trimming your wick helps to ensure a cleaner and even melt pool.

ensure that wax is free of debris including wick trimmings, matches or other flammable materials.

in order to get the most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface melts to the diameter of the jar, which could be a full two hours on the first burn. not allowing the entire top surface to melt can result in tunnelling, which reduces performance and the lifespan of your candle.

burn

it’s very important to always burn your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface away from flammable materials and drafts, out of the way of children and pets.

avoid moving your candle while it is burning or hot. of course, never leave a candle unattended.

burn a candle for no longer than 3-4 hours at a time.

post-burn

when extinguishing your candle, take care not to splatter wax and give the candle enough time to cool before handling it.

storage

store candle out of direct sunlight to avoid scent deterioration and melting the soy wax.
